The cast and crew of Wonder Woman 1984 are headed to Fuerteventura off the north coast of Africa, if this latest set photo is any indication.
Coming to us by way of Twitter user ‘Wonder Woman HQ,’ the following pic appears to have been captured on location, where the Warner Bros. crew are busy setting up what seems to be an Egyptian village. Fuerteventura is known for its blistering temperatures and arid landscapes, so the Spanish island makes for a good stand-in. But now comes the million-dollar question: what will this WW84 scene actually entail?
Story details are few and far between at this early stage, so we’ll have to settle for educated guesses. On that note, one would assume that Wonder Woman 1984 is using Fuerteventura as a gateway into the world of Cheetah, Kristen Wiig’s comic book villain who’s shaping up to be Diana’s new big foe.
Then again, it could well be that this “Egyptian villain” will have something to do with Pedro Pascal’s mystery character. Don’t believe us? Here, have a nosy:
If that’s the case, Pascal should have no trouble acting under the scorching sun, having played the part of Oberyn Martell (AKA the Red Viper of Dorne) on HBO’s Game of Thrones series. Let’s just hope he doesn’t meet a similar fate…
On a more serious note, production on Wonder Woman 1984 appears to be coming along at a brisk clip, so we imagine Warner Bros. will be ready to drop the first reel of footage sometime before the year’s end – likely to coincide with the launch of Aquaman in December.
And WW84? It’s ETA is November 1st, 2019, which is only a few short weeks after the arrival of DC’s Joker origin movie. Exciting times, indeed.
