How Ant-Man And The Wasp Connects To Avengers: Infinity War

I mean, Thanos killed half of the universe in maybe three minutes, with a literal snap of his fingers. He took most of our favorite heroes with him, too. Even Spider-Man! And Marvel NEVER messes with Spider-Man. It was a legitimate culture shock to anyone within earshot of a theater.

And now that half of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s population is dead, what does it mean for all of their other movies? How will the new status quo be dealt with? How will it affect all our favorite characters? Will the finger snap even be mentioned at all?

Well, Ant-Man and the Wasp is the first major release from the studio since the Mad Titan wiped out half the population and answers all of these questions with a resounding, yes!

In the first of two post-credits scene, it’s revealed that the events of film occur either concurrently or shortly before the final moments of Infinity War. That’s because we see Scott Lang, Hank Pym, Hope Van Dyne and Janet Van Dyne meet up to organize an excursion into the mysterious Quantum Realm. Scott jumps in, grabs what he was looking for and as he calls for the reunited Pym family to pull him back out, the camera pans to a bunch of dust. It’s a chilling shot complete with that same, ominous noise that traumatized us in Infinity War.

There aren’t any other notable connections to Joe and Anthony Russo’s event movie aside from that, but Ant-Man and the Wasp is still an excellent addition to the MCU and effectively improves the standing of its title character while also building, expanding, and bettering the universe it inhabits as a whole.
