It became pretty evident upon the conclusion of Infinity War that the twentieth MCU entry, Ant-Man and the Wasp, would have a significant role to play in setting up Avengers 4, we just didn’t think it would be unveiled so soon.
With Peyton Reed’s upcoming blockbuster less than a month away from entering theaters, and the Infinity War sequel eyeing a May 3rd, 2019 release, there’s quite the gap to bridge between the two MCU installments. Thankfully, then, a Redditor – go figure – might’ve unlocked the correlation between them. Granted, the connection is so obvious we probably should’ve figured it out for ourselves a long time ago, but some of us are still preoccupied digesting Thanos’ devastating actions.
Anyways, according to this Reddit user, the title for Avengers 4 will be unveiled after the final post-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp, much akin to every other Marvel movie in that it’ll flash the following on screen: “The Wasp and The Ant-Man will return in ________” – with the blank reserved for the title.
Speaking of which, another, entirely separate, leak has suggested the film’s moniker will include three words – aside from Avengers – one starting with “F” and another beginning with “H.” While some fans have speculated that the name of the twenty-second MCU entry will be The Final Hours or The Fallen Heroes, it’s impossible to know for sure right now.
Finally, the original leak also stated that the “post-credits scene for Ant-Man is [Hawkeye’s] family being dusted,” which would make sense seeing as many have theorized that the death of his family will result in Clint Barton becoming his other alter ego, Ronin. Whether any of this is true or not, we’ll soon find out. After all, advance tickets for Ant-Man and the Wasp officially went on sale the other day and the flick will be infesting theaters everywhere come July 6th.
