Aquaman Test Screenings Reveal New Story Details

If you're even remotely familiar with the character of Aquaman, then you're well aware of how he's not the useless wimp that shows like The Big Bang Theory and Family Guy make him out to be. In fact, he's quite badass, something that Jason Momoa has already gotten across with his scene stealing performance in Justice League.

Because of that, Arthur Curry’s first solo flick is one of my most anticipated superhero films to roll out in 2018, an excitement that was doubled upon hearing how the first audiences to have attended test screenings praised the action and emotion they witnessed. Really, if this holds up, Warner Bros. could have a Wonder Woman-like hit on their hands.

Speaking of which, it was only a matter of time before those who attended said screenings flushed their NDAs down the toilet and began spilling some beans. And, according to Batman-News, here are but a few things we have to look forward to:

  • Characters just talk normally underwater. No giant air bubbles like we saw in Justice League.

  • The rumors were true, Jason Momoa wears the comic book Aquaman costume in the movie.

  • Black Manta is a secondary villain. He looks just like he does in the comics and has the same origin as well.

  • Superhero News scoop confirmed, The Trench is in the movie.

  • Yes, Aquaman can talk to fish, and he does in the movie.

Jason Momoa In Justice League

Now, this isn’t the first we’ve heard of the classic Aquaman costume being incorporated into the film, but I see no reason to fret because those in the costuming department have proven time and again they have what it takes to make any look work.

Also, I’m glad to hear that the Trench will be making an appearance. Granted, we know not of how great a role the creatures will play, but it’s comforting to learn that the filmmakers looked to the Geoff Johns comic book of the same name for inspiration. Really, there are various moments in that story that could do wonders when it comes to shifting public perception on the titular hero, so let’s hope to see at least a few of them adapted.

Aquaman opens in theaters on December 21st.
