The currently circulating photo was taken at Simone, a restaurant partially owned by the film’s co-director Joe Russo, where several of the franchise’s biggest stars can be seen alongside Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and oddly enough, Community star Yvette Nicole Brown. But amidst the expected Avengers 4 players like Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, and Don Cheadle is the grinning visage of Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi.

While nothing can be confirmed from this image, the photo does raise the question of whether the New Zealand actor and filmmaker could be making an appearance in the upcoming movie, which would likely mean a welcome return to the action for Korg the Kronan.

This quirky rebel was a highlight of Ragnarok, and after Avengers: Infinity War left his fate ambiguous, it’s nice to think that he may not have perished in Thanos’ attack on the Asgardians’ ship. On the Infinity War audio commentary track, writer Christopher Markus told us to “pray for Korg,” and it looks like our prayers just might have been answered.

That being said, we’ve certainly received hints in the past that we haven’t seen the last of Korg. Earlier this year, Feige said that the studio were considering a spinoff project for the former gladiator and his old friend Miek.

“We have plans for Korg and Miek … When and where we’ll have to wait and see, but we, like the audience now that they’ve seen them, can’t get enough. We were talking about doing a little spin-off … like one of these One-Shot short films with Korg and Miek… like [them] just going shopping and things.”

Now there’s as good a reason as any to bring back the Marvel One-Shots. In the meantime, look out for Avengers 4, which hits theaters on May 3rd, 2019 and will surely feature a good proportion of the people in this photo.
