Not too long ago, Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige said that the official title for Avengers 4 won’t be announced until sometime near the end of this year – likely in November, along with the first trailer. Until then, you should probably approach any supposed reveal of the name of this much-anticipated sequel with extreme skepticism, even if the usually reliable MCU Cosmic is your source.
Of course, fans have found cause for false hope on more than one occasion this year. The title Avengers: End Game, for instance, was a popular choice back in June, but was ultimately dismissed after Joe Russo’s statement that the next film’s subtitle wouldn’t originate from any dialogue in Infinity War.
There was even a rumor that the title would be revealed at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp, though obviously that one was pretty quickly refuted by the actual film. But now, the aforementioned MCU Cosmic is here to tease us a little bit by dropping a few clues. Jeremy Conrad, the site’s editor-in-chief, claims that he knows what Avengers 4 will be called and offered up the following over on Twitter.
It IS a single-word subtitle.
Not Endgame
Not Forever
Not Eternity
Not Legacy
Not Assemble
Not Disassemble
So, that rules out a number of the most popular guesses, then, leaving us with few ideas as to what the film will ultimately be titled. Of course, it also raises the question of whether or not the trailer and title will be unveiled simultaneously, or will each reveal arrive as their own announcements?
Common logic points to a double whammy so that Marvel can deliver a one-two punch that is, quite frankly, out of this world. At least, that’s what we think, but after 10 years and 20 movies, the fourth Avengers film will no doubt have us guessing in regards to everything about it right up until the lights go down in theaters on May 3rd, 2019.
