The Marvel movies exist in an interconnected world where the content of one film can have have major effects on the events of another, and Disney’s own promotional calendar operates in a similar manner, with the early arrival of the Dumbo teaser prompting some speculation that the first Avengers 4 trailer might also be coming a little sooner than expected.
As a fan on Twitter pointed out, the new Dumbo footage dropping leaves the rest of this month pretty open trailer-wise, and according to MCU Cosmic leaker Jeremy Conrad, this may or may not signal the arrival of the Avengers 4 teaser as soon as next week:
“Well the Infinity War trailer hit early (it was originally Dec 4, released on Nov 29 instead). So anything is possible.
But it’s very soon either way.”
Of course, this is just speculation for now, and Conrad’s tweet hardly sounds like the most confident of endorsements in the idea either, but like he said, Marvel Studios pulled a similar sort of trick with the first teaser for Avengers: Infinity War, so we surely can’t rule out the same happening for the sequel.
In any case, one rumor we heard earlier this month is that the trailer could premiere during Monday Night Football on November 26th, and while that’s a date we can’t be sure of yet, there’s an overwhelming consensus on the internet right now that the footage will be dropping before the end of the month, despite director Joe Russo’s efforts to throw us off his scent.
When it does finally happen, there’s a very good chance that this teaser will coincide with the unveiling of the film’s official title, putting two heavily crowded fields of Avengers 4 speculation out of action simultaneously. After that, arguably the next big reveal won’t be until the film itself hits theaters, which is set for May 3rd, 2019.
