Avengers: Endgame Fan Theory Says Pepper Potts And Rocket Will Rescue Tony Stark

Though the first Avengers: Endgame trailer offered glimpses of several surviving heroes from Avengers: Infinity War, the star of the preview was very much Tony Stark, whose predicament takes up almost an entire minute of the two-and-a-half-minute teaser and continues to spawn fan theories about who could swoop in and save Iron Man before he runs out of oxygen.

One suggestion that arose early for Stark’s potential savior was his fiancée Pepper Potts, who’s confirmed to be suiting up for next year’s release. But seeing how Pepper’s still relatively new to this superhero job, perhaps it stands to reason that she’ll have some help on what could well be her first mission in the Rescue persona. Enter this new theory from Reddit user Dresudi, which argues that Pepper will be joined by Rocket, who’d probably be pretty keen himself to find out what happened to his old Benatar ship and the people who once boarded it.

First off, the point is made that while the Guardians of the Galaxy regular could well have a means of tracking the Benatar, the events of Infinity War left him without a vehicle for space travel, since he arrived on Earth by way of Bifrost. And if he’s looking for technology to get him off this planet, Rocket’s new superhero connections just might direct him to Stark Industries, which is where he and Pepper could meet.

From here, the theory goes that the pair venture into space using whatever technology they have available, and when they find the Benatar, not only will Pepper be able to refute Tony’s trailer line about “zero promise of Rescue,” but Stark (and possibly Nebula, if she’s still around) will be able to tell Rocket about the tragic fate of his peers.

Obviously this is just one of many ways that the events of Avengers: Endgame could play out, but it seems like a well-reasoned piece of speculation nonetheless, and we’ll find out if there’s any truth to it when the film hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
