This news comes thanks to the listing for the Endgame release on the website for theater chain Cinemark. Here’s their description of the movie:

“After the events of Infinity War, the universe is in ruins. The Avengers assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe. Includes 7 minutes of bonus content & Stan Lee tribute.”

Lee passed away back in November, with Captain Marvel – the first MCU movie to be released following his death – opening with a special tribute to the Marvel creator. The usual Marvel Studios fanfare was given a revamp to showcase Stan’s many beloved cameos and as for Avengers: Endgame, that featured another special moment to honor the great man: his final cameo in the franchise, which de-aged him 40 years for a flashback scene.

As for this re-release, it sounds like the new footage won’t be filtered into the bulk of the movie but instead, be dispersed in the credits, thereby finally giving Endgame some post-credits sequences. We’ve been told this by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige himself. When he announced the refreshed cut to the press, he revealed: “If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises.”

Marvel will be hoping this re-release boots Avengers: Endgame‘s box office just enough for it to top Avatar as history’s highest-grossing movie ever. But tell us, will you help to make that happen by checking out these additional seven minutes? Join the conversation in the comments section below.
