We all know Avengers: Endgame is going to be massive. What we don’t know, however, is if it’ll reach the same level of Infinity War (though it’s looking like it will), or what the MCU will be like when it’s all over and which of the heroes will still be standing by the time the credits roll.

If one thing’s for certain, though, it’s that the upcoming sequel is surely going to be the year’s biggest release and will score an absolutely gargantuan opening weekend. For further proof of that we point you to a new report from CNBC, who tell us that in its first week, Endgame has sold nearly twice as many tickets as AquamanThe Last JediInfinity War and Captain Marvel, combined.

Let that sink in for a minute…

Of course, the signs were always there that Anthony and Joe Russo’s mega blockbuster was going to do insanely well when it came to ticket pre-sales. For one, a number of ticketing sites where overwhelmingly flooded with traffic for much of last week when tickets first became available, causing some of them to crash. And once the rush died down a bit, tickets began appearing on eBay for absolutely ridiculous prices – and they were selling, too.

As it stands, Avengers: Endgame is widely expected to beat the box office record currently held by Avengers: Infinity War for best opening weekend ever, on both a domestic and global level. And though the film’s hefty runtime puts it over 3 hours, which will no doubt reduce the number of daily showings that cinemas can hold and may knock its earnings down just a bit, most analysts feel confident that the pic will meet their projections.

And we’ll find out if they’re right in just a few short weeks, as Iron Man and co. will assemble to take on the Mad Titan one final time on April 26th.
