Almost two months after the release of Captain Marvel, there remain certain corners of the internet that have yet to move on from their Brie Larson hate crush, to the point that Don Cheadle has felt the need to step in and set the record straight.
The social media exchange started with one Twitter user sharing a body language analysis video that feeds into the troll narrative by characterizing Larson as “a psycho pretending to be a hero.” In response, the War Machine actor came to the defense of his Avengers: Endgame co-star with the following dismissive message:
“you should see my ‘body language’ right now …”
A few minutes later, Cheadle elaborated a little on his reaction:

To be honest, a quick Google will reveal even more farfetched attempts to paint Larson as the villain, but seeing how Captain Marvel is currently only the second solo debut of the entire MCU to cross the billion-dollar mark, it’s pretty evident that your average filmgoer doesn’t harbor the same animosity towards the actress.
With that in mind, a second solo outing for Carol Danvers seems like a sure thing. As it stands, little to nothing has been confirmed about Captain Marvel 2, though Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has hinted that the sequel may be another period film, that picks up where the first movie left off.
As for Cheadle, it’s hard to tell what the future holds for Tony Stark’s old friend, though given the plethora of films and Disney Plus shows currently on the horizon, surely Marvel can find a place for future War Machine outings. In the meantime, Avengers: Endgame is still in cinemas.
