From Captain America’s rumored transition (Nomad, perhaps?) to Hawkeye’s newfound identity, the story rumors for Infinity War and Avengers 4 have been coming in thick and fast.
That largely comes down to the fact that Joe and Anthony Russo, director of Winter Soldier and last year’s Civil War, chose to shoot both ensemble movies back-to-back, resulting in a bottleneck of photos and leaked set pics. And though Marvel is yet to release any official footage from either Infinity War or Avengers 4, it’s fair to say that both MCU tentpoles are among the most-anticipated movies on the Hollywood calendar.
And for good reason, it seems, as they’ll feature “lots of evolutions” for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes over the next two-to-three years.
While speaking with Collider during Ragnarok‘s press tour, Marvel boss Kevin Feige addressed the somewhat contentious continuity issue lying between Thor: Ragnarok and Infinity War, before stressing:
There’ll be lots of evolutions for lots of characters over the course of the next two Avengers films.
Unfortunately, and understandably, he wouldn’t spill anything more than that, and though his comment is certainly vague, it would appear as if Joe and Anthony Russo are about to put Earth’s Mightiest Heroes through the wringer in 2018. The only question that remains is whether they’ll all still be around to fight Thanos in the as-yet-untitled sequel.
Now that Thor: Ragnarok has made its bow – collecting a box office haul to the tune of $650 million…so far – all eyes are beginning to turn toward Black Panther. It’s the final Marvel solo movie to release before the advent of Avengers: Infinity War, which will shake the MCU down to its very foundations on May 4th, 2018.
