Tony Stark and Stephen Strange – two New York natives with higher IQs than the last 10 Avengers combined.
And yet, in what is perhaps a textbook example of two egos clashing, Good Morning Britain has debuted a brand new Avengers: Infinity War clip in which the Sorcerer Supreme delivers some hard truths to a snarky Stark.
In typically irreverent fashion, Robert Downey Jr.’s tech genius is seen goofing around within the hallowed halls of the Sanctum Sanctorum – much to the frustration of Benedict Cumberbatch’s all-wise, all-powerful magician, who rambles on about the oncoming threat of Thanos and his nefarious Black Order, who seek to wipe out half of the universe through the power of those six Infinity Stones.
Suffice it to say, the fate of the world hangs in the balance, and while appearing on Good Morning Britain, Cumberbatch previewed that fiery dynamic between Stark and Strange:
Oh, there’s always a big hoo-ha about that. Don’t forget about me, you know. It was a good meetings of egos and facial hair. We don’t kiss but we have similar tache things going on, goatee vibes. It was really daunting standing on set with those characters as well as those actors.
And make no mistake, there’s never been a film quite like Avengers: Infinity War, which is all set to become the culmination of a wildly ambitious cinematic vision that began 10 years ago with the humble release of Jon Favreau’s Iron Man. Talk about greatness from small beginnings…
Cumberbatch continued:
This film is mind-blowingly epic. It is not underselling it to say that it is one of the grandest, most exciting movie events of the last decade. It feels like it has been building and building and building to this.
Avengers: Infinity War makes land on April 27th, and the MCU will never be the same again.
