“Perfectly balanced… as all things should be.”
The Mad Titan is officially bound for San Diego Comic-Con, but there’s a twist – Thanos will take the form of a life-size LEGO statue made up of 91,350 (!) carefully placed bricks.
That’s right, at eight-and-a-half feet, Avengers: Infinity War‘s big bad will be towering over SDCC attendees this coming weekend, and The Hollywood Reporter has relayed the first, ahem, snaps of Marvel’s gigantic LEGO statue.
It’s the product of LEGO Master Builders, who spent upwards of 418 hours building and designing the model to closely resemble the Mad Titan as he appears on the big screen – they’ve even got the Infinity Gauntlet down to a T. Those hoping to take a selfie with the man-made giant can seek out the LEGO exhibit at SDCC this Thursday, when the industry’s biggest showcase officially gets going.
Without further ado, here’s LEGO’s rendition of the Mad Titan in all his glory:
This statue reveal comes at a good time, too, now that Thanos (read: Reddit moderators) has successfully purged the Internet’s most popular subreddit, ‘r/ThanosDidNothingWrong.’ Said culling took place early last week, and even piqued the curiosity of Josh Brolin himself, not to mention Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who watched on as 350,000 users (including one Russo) were hit with the ban hammer as part of Reddit’s biggest ever rapture.
And now, it’s time to celebrate Thanos for what he really is – the MCU’s most memorable villain… so far. Comic book fans will have the chance to do so once San Diego Comic-Con kicks off on Thursday, though aside from Iron Fist season 2, Marvel looks set to skip this year’s showcase altogether.
