Looks like Pepper Potts will be piloting an Iron Man suit in the not-so-distance future – but can we expect her to suit up for Infinity War? Or the so-far untitled Avengers 4? Or both, perhaps?
While appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (h/t ComicBook.com), Gwyneth Paltrow touched base on her MCU career, which found new life at the tail-end of Spider-Man: Homecoming – and just in time for a possible engagement to Tony Stark, no less.
Pepper Potts is very much back in the picture, then, and though she stopped short of mentioning any specifics, in her interview with Colbert (see below), Paltrow strongly suggests that her on-screen heroine will be piloting an Iron Man suit of her own. The quote itself is lifted from around the 9:00 mark, and we’ve included it below on the off-chance you aren’t able to access the actual video.
Gwyneth Paltrow: “You know, to be totally honest, I’m unclear. Because it’s so secretive and it’s all on green screen, and I’m not exactly sure. And they don’t let me say anything.”
Stephen Colbert: “Is there any chance, at any point, when you were working on the movie, did you thrust your hand toward someone wearing a blue suit with ping pong balls on it?”
GP: “Yes.”
Truth be told, Paltrow has been linked with a potentially huge role in Avengers: Infinity War (and its sequel?) before. For instance, back in December, the actress shared a couple of set photos via Instagram, in which she was seen wearing part of a motion-capture suit.
That tells us Pepper Potts will be springing into action very soon indeed, and the fact that Stephen Colbert alludes to “thrusting your hand toward someone wearing a blue suit” all but confirms that Potts’ will be calling upon Tony Stark’s vast arsenal as the war against Thanos begins to heat up.
But what do you think? Is Pepper Potts about to have her due in Avengers: Infinity War? Or are you more inclined to believe that the Russo Brothers will hold fire until 2019? Do let us know.
