Kneel before the Black Order.
Proving that Thanos isn’t the only villain of Avengers: Infinity War, some new concept art has emerged that gives us another good look at the Black Order, an intergalactic group of castaways and scoundrels who all have one thing in common: they’re the adopted children of Marvel’s Mad Titan.
That’s right, just like Gamora and Nebula before them, the Black Order – namely Proxima Midnight, Ebony Maw, Corvus Glaive and Cull Obsidian – can be considered the unruly offspring of Thanos, and at least based on Infinity War‘s pair of trailers, their loyalty knows no bounds. But even between those two previews, we still haven’t seen very much of the gang, and with things likely to stay that way right up until release, we’re happy to bring you some new promo art which, like we said above, provides a detailed look at the villains (as well as some of the heroes).
For those who don’t know, Proxima Midnight, Ebony Maw, Corvus Glaive and Cull Obsidian are essentially the deathly lieutenants of Thanos, and they only have one thing on their mind: absolute rule. Earth’s fate hangs in the balance, then, and it’s up to the Avengers to set aside old differences (see: Civil War) and put Marvel’s Mad Titan in his place.
And though it bears a striking resemblance to Justice League in the story department – a group of heroic individuals band together in the face of a common enemy (Thanos/Steppenwolf), who plans to use majestic MacGuffins (Infinity Stones/Mother Boxes) to wipe out humanity – Avengers: Infinity War is building on a legacy the stretches all the way back to 2008. And on April 27th, moviegoers will finally be able to bear witness to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s deadliest showdown…so far.
