Avengers: Infinity War might have ended on a massive downer for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, with many of their number turned to dust along with half the universe, but the movie’s post-credits scene gave us a glimmer of hope. Thanks to Nick Fury paging Captain Marvel before he died, it looks like Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers will be on hand to help out in Avengers 4.
That is, assuming that she actually understood Fury’s message. Fan artist Boss Logic has imagined a hilarious follow-up to Infinity War‘s post-credits sequence, which jokes that maybe Captain Marvel won’t know who sent her that S.O.S., as she’s got a new phone. Hey, we’ve all been there, right? The mystery text part, not the fate of the world rests in our hands part.
Anyways, check out the piece below:
Luckily for the Avengers, we’re pretty sure that Carol Danvers received Fury’s cry for help loud and clear as we know for a fact that she’ll team up with the remaining heroes in next May’s sequel. As for how she’ll fit in with the likes or Iron Man and Thor, well, the writers have already teased that Captain Marvel’s power level is off the scale in comparison to the rest of the Avengers, meaning she should be a useful ally to have in the fight against Thanos. And for a glimpse of how she’ll look battling alongside her new pals, some concept art from the film recently leaked online.
The reason Fury and Carol communicate via this clunky handheld device rather than a standard cell phone is because Captain Marvel will reveal that Carol first became a superhero back in the 1990s. Presumably, it will also see the heroine pull a Wonder Woman and retire from active world-saving duty for a long period of time until she’s really needed, which is at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.
