The Avengers Writer-director Joss Whedon has kept the storyline of The Avengers close to the vest but as production continues in Cleveland, Ohio, details have begun to emerge. The latest set photos, courtesy of Cleveland Metromix, reveal what many fans claim may be a Skrull Ship of some kind.
What’s a Skrull? According to Marvel lore, a Skrull is a shape-shifting alien that The Avengers went to war with in an inter-galactic battle that nearly destroyed the team.
Of course, not many people know what a Skrull ship might look like or even what Joss Whedon‘s vision of what a Skrull alien might look like. In essence, it’s nothing but speculation at this point. What is known about The Avengers is that the all star cast has been on and off the set with Chris Evans‘ Captain America taking center stage early on.
After being blown through a wall by his alien foe, Chris Evans takes time to shake hands and thank extras behind the scenes on The Avengers.
Oh the humanity! Captain America survives this smoky explosion amidst his battle with a motion capture alien.
And who put Captain America through that wall? Here’s a behind the scenes shot of a Motion Capture suited actor who may or may not be a stand in for a CGI Skrull.
What do you think Avengers fans? Do these behind the scenes photos get you amped up for the film? The massive comic book blockbuster starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson, among many, many others, hits theaters May 4th, 2012.
