UPDATE: The photo has been removed at the request of the studio.
Production on Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past wrapped last week and to celebrate, 20th Century Fox has released a new photo from the film, featuring Nicholas Hoult as Hank McCoy, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and James McAvoy as Professor Xavier, all dressed in their 1970’s costumes.
Despite Singer Tweeting out photos from set over the past couple of months, this is our first official look at the film, which is set for release on May 23rd, 2014. Admittedly, it’s not much, and we already saw a similar behind the scenes photo a while back, but still, it’s nice to get an official look and hopefully this is just the first in an upcoming wave of marketing material for the film.
The crowded cast features actors from the original trilogy, like Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart and Ellen Page, as well as most of the cast from X-Men: First Class, like Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and more. Then, of course, there’s also some fresh new faces for the franchise, like Omar Sy and Peter Dinklage.
Though X-Men: Days of Future Past certainly looks promising, many are worried about there being too many mutants in the film. This could turn out to be the case, but I’m sure that Singer and the entire team have taken this issue into concern. Then again, this was the same fear that people had for The Avengers and some characters, like Hawkeye, did end up getting a bit shafted. Hopefully Singer won’t make the same mistake here and all of our favorite mutants will get their chance to shine.
