Production for the live-action adaptation of Collen Hoover’s novel It Ends With Us has started, and the film’s star, Blake Lively was spotted recently, embodying the book’s main protagonist, Lily Bloom on set.
Hello Magazine reported that Lively was seen rocking Lily’s vibrant red hair on set as the film began production in New York City. It was reported that her spotted appearance was completely different, compared to when she appeared during the grand re-opening of Tiffany & Co.
It was speculated that the red hair that the Gossip Girl star wore on set was a wig after fans spotted the actress with her children attending Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour and still having her natural blonde hair.
In the books, Lily Bloom is the main protagonist who runs a flower shop, and she was described as someone with “red hair and pretty red lips.” It was announced early this year that Lively and Justin Baldoni will star in the live-action adaptation of It Ends With Us, with Hello Magazine reporting that Lively will be the film’s executive producer. After the live-action adaptation was announced, Hoover revealed on TikTok that Lively was her first choice to play the lead character in her novel.
This book found massive success on TikTok, which led to Hoover’s writing career skyrocketing. However, critics have argued that the original text romanticized domestic abuse, and due to the nature of TikTok, younger readers would be exposed to that kind of writing. As of writing, there is no scheduled release date for when It Ends With Us will hit theaters.
