Coming courtesy of Instagram, these pics may not reveal too much about Phil Coulson’s relationship with the MCU’s most powerful hero, but they do give us another glimpse of the de-aging job carried out by the hair and make-up department, with further digital work likely to follow.

We got our first look at ‘90s-era Coulson in the September trailer for Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s upcoming feature, but in the time since that teaser’s unveiling, footage has been in short supply. With the film now less than four months away from release though, fans are currently speculating on when and how the next trailer will be coming our way, with one recent prediction marking the time and place as December 8th at Brazil’s CCXP.

In any case, Phil Coulson won’t be the only familiar, if significantly younger, face in the action, with Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as Nick Fury. Lately, we’ve been getting a feel for this Avenger assembler’s connection to Carol in the new Captain Marvel Prelude comic, which has so far hinted that Nick sees Captain Marvel as a last resort that he hopefully won’t ever need.

Evidently, things didn’t work out that way, and we’ll find out if Fury’s distress call was worth it when Avengers 4 comes out on May 3rd, 2019. But first, Carol Danvers is set to burst onto the MCU scene when Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8th.
