Looks like yesterday’s rumor was on point after all; Disney and Lucasfilm have formally announced that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set to debut on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere March 24th, before opening up to 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, and On-Demand services on April 4th.
The announcement came hand-in-hand with a new trailer for the home video release (see above), which casts light on some of the many bonus features included. Conspicuous by their absence? Deleted scenes, particularly when you consider just how much footage was reportedly left on the cutting room floor during production on Gareth Edwards’ anthology flick. That’s not to say that the Mouse House won’t bring us Rogue One‘s deleted scenes further down the line, but at least with this initial release, it looks as though the special features will largely focus on character profiles, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and a look to the future of the Star Wars franchise.
Down below, you’ll find a comprehensive overview of Rogue One‘s collection of extras. Alas, those hoping that Lucasfilm and Disney would take the opportunity to cut through the noise and address the alleged creative changes – an interview with Tony Gilroy, perhaps – will leave disappointed.

It’ll also include a look to the future of Disney’s rebooted universe, but can fans expect some form of teaser or nod to either Star Wars: The Last Jedi or Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s untitled Han Solo anthology film? Unlikely, but we’ll keep you posted one way or another.
