You’ve heard of Brie Larson and Alison Brie, but what about ‘Alison Brie Larson’?
That’s the catchy term given to this Captain Marvel workout photo, which features, you guessed it, MCU newcomer Brie Larson and Alison Brie, the actress best known for her roles in Community and the ongoing GLOW series at Netflix. It’s an original drama about 1980s syndicated women’s wrestling, so it’s small wonder why Brie has to stay in tip-top shape. GLOW has also been renewed for a third season at Netflix, and will likely return to the streaming service sometime next year.
For Brie Larson, though, 2019 is all about Captain Marvel’s maiden voyage, while the film’s 1990s setting ought to herald a welcome change of pace for the MCU following the one-two punch of Avengers: Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Chances are Alison Brie and Brie Larson simply share the same personal trainer (and ‘Brie’), as it’s not uncommon for fitness coaches to work alongside a number of big-name Hollywood stars simultaneously as they prepare for the role of a lifetime.
And make no mistake, for Brie Larson, Captain Marvel is a game-changer in every sense of the word. For one, the fighter-pilot-turned-cosmic-hero has been championed as the MCU’s strongest ever character, while there have been rumblings that Larson will become the franchise’s new figurehead for Phase 4 and beyond – presumably at the expense of Tony Stark, whose time at the forefront of Marvel’s cinematic universe appears to be on the wane.
So perhaps it’s best packing the tissues for Avengers 4? We’ll find out for sure once the lights go down on May 3rd, 2019 – the day on which the MCU will be changed forevermore.
