She’s been described as the most powerful MCU superhero so far and the key to unlocking Avengers 4, but long before she stands shoulder to shoulder with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Carol Danvers is primed for a standalone movie of her own in Captain Marvel.
Currently lensing across parts of Los Angeles, the Internet has already unearthed a teasing peek at the young Nick Fury, along with a shot of Brie Larson’s heroine and would-be Avenger racing into action. This latest batch is cut from the same cloth, as below you’ll be able to take a look at Carol Danvers as she confronts an unknown assailant while standing on the roof of a commuter train.
Remember, Captain Marvel largely takes place in the 1990s – Carol’s attire, meanwhile, is said to be molded after the Kree – so that goes some way to explaining the dated architecture. As for who Brie Larson is confronting, it’s really anyone’s guess, though we’re inclined to believe that this scene is lifted from the opening segment of Captain Marvel, given the green Kree-inspired suit.

On the casting front, co-directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck have assembled a who’s who of Hollywood talent, including Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace Djimon Hounsou, Colin Ford, Kenneth Mitchell, Clark Gregg and Jude Law as a tweaked version of the famous Mar-Vell.
Captain Marvel takes flight on March 8th, 2019 – three months before the grand release of Avengers 4. And if you’re wondering where Carol Danvers has been this entire time, we have a few theories of our own…
