Seeing as they’ve already given us two full trailers to feast on, both of which sent fans into a frenzy of excitement, the promotional campaign for Captain Marvel could’ve spent the next little while simply recycling its pre-released footage for run-of-the-mill promos and it still would’ve done gangbusters at the box office come March. But it looks like Marvel Studios is willing to show us just a bit more from Carol Danvers’ solo debut, as a new preview has debuted on ESPN tonight and it’s got a healthy amount of fresh footage in it.
Brough to life by the inimitable Brie Larson, you can feast your eyes on more Captain Marvel goodness up above, as we get a further look at Miss Danvers, an Air Force pilot who “becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes” and “finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of a galactic war.” All of that and more’s teased in the new promo we have for you today, which promises a dazzling cosmic adventure – with a fair amount of humor, to boot – that’ll no doubt make for another exciting chapter in the MCU.
With Carol said to be starting off the film with her superpowers already in place, it’s clear that Captain Marvel won’t follow the conventional origin story formula, but from this preview and the others ones we’ve seen, it looks like the pic will focus a lot on her early years, as the amnesia-stricken hero struggles to piece together her own backstory.
Charting well on various Most Anticipated Movies of 2019 lists, Captain Marvel has been steadily building up a good deal of hype ever since its first preview dropped back in September, before its second trailer in December took things to a whole other level. And though we’ve already seen quite a lot of the film, you can be sure that Captain Marvel is still saving its biggest surprises for when it hits theaters on March 8th.
After that, we’ll find out if fans are prepared for an even more hyped-up MCU event when Anthony and Joe Russo’s Avengers: Endgame comes out on April 26th and forever changes the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
