Once Captain Marvel has completed its massive opening weekend, attentions will be turning more than ever to Avengers: Endgame, and thanks to the new book The Art of Captain Marvel, it seems that we have our best look yet at the style Carol Danvers will be rocking for her next picture.
Be warned that a few Captain Marvel and Endgame spoilers lie ahead.
As those of you stuck around for the post-credits scene of Carol’s solo debut will know, the MCU’s most powerful hero eventually answers the call made by Nick Fury and shows up at the Avengers Compound. And in her final shot of the film, we see that Captain Marvel has updated her outfit at some point during her 20-plus years of absence.
Though the scene only provides a fleeting glimpse of the top half of Carol’s next costume, some newly shared concept art offers a full body shot. Granted, we don’t know yet if Endgame is going with this exact design, but the golden shoulder pads seen in the Captain Marvel post-credits sequence certainly indicate that the movie will be offering something very similar.
So far, the spoiler-conscious Marvel Studios has completely excluded Captain Marvel from Endgame’s promotional footage, making her solo movie’s post-credits scene the first time we’ve seen Carol sharing the screen with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
Now that we’ve got our first glimpse of these two corners of the cinematic universe colliding, however, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Brie Larson’s heroine show up in the next trailer, which is expected to drop at some point in the next few weeks. Either way, though, we’ll see Ms. Danvers and her upgraded suit in action when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
