In recent months, the allegiances of characters in Star Wars: The Force Awakens has started to become clearer thanks to the new details and images which have been sporadically released. Star Wars: Episode VIII, on the other hand, is a very long way away, so it could be as much as a year before we find out whose side any of the new casting additions will be on.
In the case Sicario star Benecio Del Toro, it was initially reported that he’ll be playing a villain, but the actor would later go back on that and muddy the waters somewhat by stating: “I don’t know if he’s a villain. People are saying that, but it’s like they read a different script than I read.” However, it now appears as if the beans have been spilled by an alleged casting sheet shared by Movie Casting Call.
[zergpaid]The website apparently deals with a lot of Disney call sheets, and they’re now reporting that Del Toro is paying Star Wars: Episode VIII‘s unnamed villain, while Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Leia Skywalker), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), John Boyega (Finn), and Daisy Ridley (Rey) are all set to reprise their roles.
This should be taken with a pinch of salt for now, as it could be that the site is working off old information or incorrect assumptions. Still, it certainly adds fuel to the fire in regards to Del Toro being part of the Dark Side.
With any luck, some more concrete information about Star Wars: Episode VIII will surface following the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens this December.
