On the big screen, they may not have the greatest working relationship, but in real life, Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans are bound by camaraderie.
It’s no secret that from their first meeting onward, Tony Stark and Steve Rogers haven’t exactly seen eye-to-eye, and in 2016, their mutual dislike for one another came to a head, as the Sokovia Accords drove a wedge between the two men, causing an all-out civil war between the Avengers. Outside of the realm of make-believe, however, Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans couldn’t be closer, and later this week, their friendship will be on full display.
This Thursday, “big time movie star” Chris Evans and his custom 1967 Camaro RS by SpeedKore will be profiled on Jay Leno’s Garage. During the roughly hour-long show, Evans will attempt to learn how to stunt drive and do an “epic burn out” in the vehicle, which was designed for him by Robert Downey Jr.
Yes, you read that correctly, the two-time Academy Award nominee assisted in custom building a 1967 Camaro RS, which he gifted to Chris Evans. Dubbed the “Steve Rogers Special Edition” by RDJ himself, you can check out a twenty-minute featurette and a small gallery on the undeniably badass muscle car below.
For those of you who don’t know, Jay Leno’s Garage is a television show airing on CNBC, and you can catch Evans and his Camaro on it this Thursday at 10 pm.
As for Captain America and Iron Man, well, they’ll be forced to team up at least one more time in Avengers 4, when the titular supergroup will try to put an end to Thanos (Josh Brolin) once and for all.
