Amidst the overwhelmingly large cast of Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos walked away from the recent Marvel mega-hit as the movie’s clear victor, not only eradicating half of his enemies with the mere snap of his fingers, but also making the God of Thunder look rather silly with just one line: “You should’ve gone for the head.”
Ever since Thor botched his final, decisive blow against the Mad Titan, the son of Odin hasn’t heard the end of it, with the character even taking some flak from directors Joe and Anthony Russo for his ill-advised choice to aim for the chest. The derision doesn’t seem to be letting up either, with Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman trolling Chris Hemsworth just a few weeks ago (on the latter’s birthday, no less) with yet another reminder that he should’ve gone for the head.
Fortunately, the Australian actor’s apparently taking the high road, congratulating Boseman for winning the GQ award for International Man of the Year in a tweet that was coupled with a photo of the pair together at the ceremony.
Nonetheless, it seems that Hemsworth couldn’t resist sneaking in a quick snipe at the intergalactic conqueror that he so famously failed to kill, with his message reading as follows:
“Piss off, Thanos! You can’t take away my friends. Wakanda forever! Congrats to GQ’s International Man of the Year, @chadwickboseman.”
To be fair, the man who played T’Challa likely has an even bigger beef against the purple tyrant, seeing how Black Panther was among the many unlucky characters to disintegrate into nothing as a result of Thanos’ snap. But while Avengers: Infinity War left our heroes in pretty bad shape, we can still hold out hope that Thor will finally get his revenge and T’Challa can come back in one piece when Avengers 4 arrives on May 3rd, 2019.
