Amidst all of the excitement surrounding the Avengers sequel and a little movie called Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it’s easy to forget that in less than two months Jurassic World hits theaters. Universal is hoping to keep the film in the spotlight though and today, a brand new poster for this summer’s beastie vacation sequel has arrived online.
Apparently, it’s the first of a trio, with the second and third promotional pieces scheduled to arrive on Saturday and Sunday before the cream of the crop descends onto the web: Monday’s brand new trailer. But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves.
Taking center stage on this latest piece is the genetically-engineered D-Rex, aka the Indominus Rex, and one of the park’s leading scientists, Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard). In much of the film’s marketing efforts so far, the hybrid creature has romped and sashayed around Isla Nublar, generally ruining everyone’s holiday by spoiling the atmosphere. Here, its stature is impressively showcased purely by the size of its jaw. Scaled next to Howard it looks as though she’d make a handy toothpick, nevermind serve as actual sustenance for the behemoth. Catch an eyeful of the poster for yourself below.
Directed by Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World arrives in theaters on June 12, 2015. Chris Pratt, Omar Sy, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Judy Greer and Vincent D’Onofrio co-star.
Steven Spielberg returns to executive produce the long-awaited next installment of his groundbreaking Jurassic Park series, Jurassic World. Colin Trevorrow directs the epic action-adventure from a screenplay he wrote with Derek Connolly. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley join the team as producers.
