Daniel Radcliffe has worked with a slew of critically-heralded directors. Both during his stint as the bespectacled boy wizard, Harry Potter, and following it he’s been at the beck and call of many skilled filmmakers. The next time we see him on the big screen, he might not be the angel-faced lad we know and love. For Alexandre Aja, Radcliffe has absolutely decimated the remains of his Potter persona, transforming into a beastly man in Horns.
From the director of French new wave horror hit, High Tension, Horns follows down a similar path of exploring just who people truly are. The story, based on Joe Hill’s best-selling novel, centres around Ignatius Perrish (Radcliffe), who is choked up with grief after he learns of the brutal murder of his girlfriend. As all the townsfolk point their fingers toward him, he turns to heavy drinking. When he then awakens one morning with a massive hangover AND a pair of horns, things get interesting. The horns bless him with a gift, as those in close proximity to Ig begin to express their deepest secrets.
In the light of last week’s crop of absolutely revolting images, we’ve now got a new clip from the movie. It continues to spiral further into Ig’s bizarre world, as he flashes back to a rather graphic sexual encounter with his girlfriend, played by Juno Temple. The black comedy kicks in as he awakens in his doctor’s office to… well, you should probably watch it for yourself.
Horns opens on October 31st. Will you be in line to see Radcliffe’s horned performance?
