Deadline is reporting that casting for Darren Aronofsky‘s upcoming epic Noah is heating up. After Christian Bale and Michael Fassbender passed on what is sure to be an epic and daunting role, Aronofsky has found another actor that he’d like to see take the challenge, Russell Crowe. Furthermore, the director also wants Liam Neeson for an important supporting role.
Neither actors have officially signed on yet but apparently Crowe is close. As for Neeson, no word on if he’s close but if he does sign on, he’d likely be taking a villain role that would pit him against Crowe.
The two actors previously starred together in 2010’s The Next Three Days, which was less than impressive. With Darren Aronofsky at the helm though, I think this trio could create something truly special. When Neeson and Crowe are on their A game, it’s truly a sight to behold as both actors are incredibly talented and when given the right role, they can do great things on screen.
As for Noah, Aronofsky is hoping to make an epic out of the film, with a nine figure budget and some Award worthy qualities. Paramount is eyeing a Fall 2013 release, which means we should have official casting confirmation soon.
In the meantime, tell us what you think of Neeson and Crowe joining the film.
