Rumors are abound that Clayface will be making an appearance in Matt Reeves’s The Batman 2 and as such fans have already begun throwing casting ideas around like Batarangs with one Matt Reeves regular being eyed up as having great potential.
Fans want to see Toby Kebbel take the role. The first reason being that he and Reeves have already worked together on both 2014’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes. On top of that, Kebbell is experienced in acting with mo-cap as he starred opposite Andy Serkis in both of those Apes films. Kebbell played Koba, the ape who ultimately betrayed Caesar (Serkis). Both of these reasons make Kebbell a very possible candidate.
Some fans were on board with the idea and praised Kebbell’s acting ability.

He’s a great actor, has experience in using motion capture for the role and definitely deserves the chance to redeem himself as a CBM villain after Fant4stic.

Different Redditors thought that it was likely that Kebbell would appear in The Batman 2, just not as Clayface. Maybe they’re still bitter over his portrayal of Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four. Others weren’t really sold on the idea at all, deciding instead to put forward other actors they believed to be better for the role.

Steve Zahn also appeared in War for the Planet of the Apes as Bad Ape, a chimpanzee who accompanies Caesar and his group.
Of course, all of this is just speculation at this point; there hasn’t even been any confirmation that Clayface will appear in The Batman 2 and a CGI villain could ruin the realistic and dark tone the first film was going for. Clayface has never appeared in live-action before and maybe there’s a reason for that. The point is, let’s not get ahead of ourselves with fan castings just yet.
