Fox’s Deadpool Sequel Said To Be “Very Different” From The First Film

Infinity War's Josh Brolin believes Deadpool 2 is very different from the first film in that it takes the Merc on a fresh, funny journey.

Well, that certainly wasn’t in the script.

Over the weekend, we brought you the news that Fox’s untitled Deadpool sequel – a sequel many had considered to be a cinematic slam-dunk for everyone involved – was performing “really poorly” among test audiences, leaving comic book movie fans in a state of disbelief.

Still no update on that front just yet, but while speaking to Flickering Myth in anticipation of Avengers: Infinity War, Josh Brolin (Nathan Summers/Cable) assured viewers that Deadpool 2 is “very different” from the first movie in that it ships our wise-cracking Merc With a Mouth off on a “fun, funny and fresh” adventure alongside Cable and Zazie Beetz’s no-nonsense Domino.

Deadpool [2] I know is going to be very fun and funny and fresh because it’s very different from the first Deadpool.

Nathan Summers is one of two high-profile Brolin villains set to light up the big screen – the other being Thanos of Avengers: Infinity War – though fans needn’t look forward to any crossover (or common ground, for that matter) between the two scenery-chewing titans.

I can’t imagine there’s not going to be any. I’ll put it that way. I’m up here right now in snowy Vancouver doing reshoots for Deadpool. Given that it’s a satire of all superhero movies, especially Marvel movies, how can you not?

Both Infinity War and Deadpool 2 have been subject to scheduling changes over the past few weeks, but it’s still the former sequel that’s due to arrive in theaters first – April 27th, to be specific. After that, Josh Brolin will switch gears from Thanos to Cable in order to put the Merc through his paces. And we can readily expect that one to debut on May 18th.
