Mark your diaries; an Annabelle 2 announcement teaser is due to drop tomorrow and while we wait, there’s an eerie new set photo to pour over.
Hailing from director David F. Sandberg’s (Light’s Out) Twitter feed, the behind-the-scenes pic sees the filmmaker prop up that relentlessly evil porcelain doll, perhaps preparing it to feature in some capacity when said teaser hits the interwebs. The jury’s still out on that one, but some form of unsettling snippet to whet our collective appetite for the full reveal appears likely.
Here’s that shot of Sandberg at work:

Having first petrified audiences in The Conjuring franchise, Annabelle is now very much the star of its own spinoff series, with the official logline noting that Sandberg’s anticipated follow-up takes place “several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.”
Coming off the back of The Enfield Poltergeist, we understand that James Wan holds a producing role on Annabelle 2. This is by no means the first time that the pair have collaborated, after working together on hit horror title Lights Out, which itself recently earned a follow-up. On board for the former sequel are Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, Lulu Wilson, Philippa Anne Coulthard, Grace Fulton, Lou Lou Safran, Samara Lee, newcomer Tayler Buck, Anthony LaPaglia, and Miranda Otto
Annabelle 2 has staked out May 19, 2017, when David F. Sandberg’s horror sequel will be giving Dwayne Johnson and his Baywatch crew a run for their money.
