Sadly, a new report from Deadline alleges that no such teaser is lined up for February 3rd. According to the site’s sources, the current thinking over at Disney is that J.J. Abrams’ next film doesn’t need a big event like the Super Bowl to get people interested, since Episode IX is capable of creating a major event in itself when the first footage is unveiled.

Indeed, while a teaser for Solo: A Star Wars Story premiered during the Super Bowl, Lucasfilm has largely ignored the game in the past. But so long as we’re drawing on promotion for previous Star Wars episodes as precedent for how Episode IX could be handled, the official subtitle of The Last Jedi was announced on January 23rd on the year of release, indicating that either an Episode IX title reveal is imminent, or Disney is working on a significantly different schedule this time.

In any case, the Deadline piece goes on to report that a trailer for Fast and Furious spinoff Hobbs and Shaw is almost guaranteed to air during the Super Bowl, before suggesting there’s also a good chance that Disney will have some airtime booked for Captain Marvel, Avengers: EndgameDumboAladdin and The Lion King.

As for Star Wars: Episode IX, the Star Wars Celebration in April is looking like the most probable time for a full trailer to arrive, but regardless of what the coming months bring, all will be revealed when the film hits theaters on December 20th, 2019.
