Production is already underway on Fast & Furious 7 but the cast isn’t set in stone yet. Not too long ago we heard that Kurt Russell would have a role in the film but today, according to the film’s Twitter account, he’s dropped out. Not to fear though because Universal has picked up another reliable talent in Djimon Hounsou.
We still don’t have any plot details on the seventh film in the very successful franchise and so, there’s no word on who Hounsou will be playing. All we really know is that Jason Statham’s villain character, who made an appearance at the end of the last film, will factor into the plot somehow as it seemed from Fast & Furious 6 that he’s out for revenge.
Directed by James Wan, Fast & Furious 7 is shaping up to be another excellent outing for the series. I’ve always been a fan of the Fast & Furious films, but ever since Fast Five the series has really taken a turn for the better. Now, with a talented director like James Wan behind the camera, and all these new additions to the cast, I think that seventh instalment will turn out to be something truly special. How they’ll top Fast & Furious 6 I don’t know, but I’m excited to find out.
