Even by Marvel’s standards, it’s been a very, very busy day in the Doctor Strange camp. Not only did this morning bring a fresh haul of high-res screenshots for Scott Derrickson’s imminent feature, but fans were also treated to another three TV spots.
Simply titled “Fight,” “Future” and “Defend,” the snippets brought the total number of Strange spots released thus far to 26 – Twenty-six! It’s a wonder there’s any footage left to show on November 4. But we digress, to keep the hype train trucking along at a steady rate, a new clip for Doctor Strange has found its way online showcasing Tilda Swinton’s Ancient One putting our Sorcerer Supreme through his paces – mentally, physically, psychologically.
Speaking of Swinton, the actress appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live (via CBM) to discuss all things Strange. It was here that the Oscar-winner teased a new alien planet that will be appearing towards the end of Derrickson’s movie, and it’s one that her children even had a hand in creating.
“My daughter was breaking stuff down. Taking beautiful costumes and covering them with mud. My son, we had this amazing moment one day when I met him for lunch one day in the canteen and I said, ‘What did you do this morning?’ and he said, ‘Made a planet!’ It’s a planet that, I’ve now seen the movie, and I can tell you it appears to great effect at the end of the movie.”
What planet is Swinton referring to, exactly? Well, if the mid-credits sequence is any indication, the celestial body could hold ties to Thor: Ragnarok which, out of all upcoming Marvel movies we know of, seems to have the strongest connection to Strange.
Doctor Strange will open in the UK first on October 25, before making the jump across the pond in time for November 4.
