Universal’s aspirations to capitalise on the huge success of Dumb And Dumber have manifested twenty years after the fact. It’s commonplace for sequels to land the green light on the back of a successful box office run. In this case, the $247 million worldwide gross it netted only bagged the comedy a poorly received prequel in 2003. Jump another decade on, and the follow-up to the Farrelly Brothers 1994 gross-out chuckle fest, Dumb And Dumber To, is now mere weeks away from release.
While you may have already seen the first trailer, there’s still reason to check out this new TV spot to see exactly what Harry and Lloyd have been up to since we last saw them. Leaning heavily on the “if it ain’t broke” mantra, the sequel looks like it could be a very funny companion piece to their first adventure.
Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels reprise their roles as two of the dumbest men on the planet, whose simplistic approaches to life always wind up serving them in good stead. This time around, the pair are hitting the road once more – to track down Harry’s daughter. That he had no clue about. This one minute clip elbows in a couple of new jokes previously unseen that’ll hopefully be complemented by fresh gags in the full length flick.
Dumb And Dumber To arrives in theatres November 12th.
Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels reprise their signature roles as Lloyd and Harry in the sequel to the smash hit that took the physical comedy and kicked it in the nuts: Dumb and Dumber To. The original film’s directors, Peter and Bobby Farrelly, take Lloyd and Harry on a road trip to find a child Harry never knew he had and the responsibility neither should ever, ever be given.
