A little earlier this year, Anna Kendrick mentioned in an interview that her brother believes she would be the ideal candidate to play Squirrel Girl in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Despite admitting that she’s unfamiliar with the comic book character, fans soon started campaigning for the Pitch Perfect star to land the role, even going so far as to create some awesome fan-art.
Now, Kendrick has gained another supporter in the form of her Scott Pilgrim vs. the World director Edgar Wright.
In Scott Pilgrim: Superman, Cap America, Human Torch, Punisher, Cap Marvel, Lego Robin & The Atom. Get @AnnaKendrick47 a Squirrel Girl film.

Wright is of course referring to Brandon Routh (who played the Man of Steel in Superman Returns and is now The Atom in Legends of Tomorrow), Chris Evans (Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Human Torch in the original Fantastic Four movies), Thomas Jane (The Punisher), Brie Larson (the newly announced Captain Marvel), and Michael Cera (who is voicing Robin in the upcoming LEGO Batman Movie).
Kendrick actually responded to Wright’s Tweet, and you can see their conversation right here. An Edgar Wright helmed Squirrel Girl movie starring the Scott Pilgrim alum is definitely a nice thought, but the chances of it happening do seem relatively slim as of right now.
Still, stranger things have happened, so we could very well see Squirrel Girl on the big screen at some point in the near future.
