20th Century Fox has released a short yet tantalizing sneak peek for the first Alien: Covenant trailer, which will be with us tomorrow. It shows next to nothing, but we do get to see some sort of egg beginning to hatch. What’s going to come out of it? Likely a Xenomorph, but we’ll have to wait until Christmas Day to see more.
It’s been a busy week for fans of Ridley Scott’s iconic franchise, as the studio has been slowing rolling out mysterious images that have teased everything from the film’s characters to its setting. The trailer is really what we’ve all been waiting for though and with the reaction to Prometheus being so divisive, fans are hopeful that Covenant can deliver. So far, it looks promising, but we’ll reserve our final judgement until after we’ve seen the first preview – which will no doubt give us a lot more than what we get above
[zergpaid]Covenant stars Katherine Waterston as the Ripley-esque Daniels, Danny McBride, Billy Crudup, Demian Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, two Michael Fassbenders and James Franco in the role of Branson. He’s said to be both the captain of Covenant and husband to Waterston’s Daniels, though we understand the actor only holds a minor role in Scott’s 2017 prequel.
Alien: Covenant will slither into theatres on May 19, 2017. It’s one of two Ridley Scott classics poised to continue next year, what with the Denis Villeneuve-directed Blade Runner 2049 penciled in for October 6th.
