The Entourage Movie Is Finally Ready To Go

It's been a long road for the Entourage movie. After HBO's hit show went off the air back in 2011, things got rough for the gang. Plans for a feature film had been in place for a while but for a long time it seemed like those plans would never come to fruition. In recent weeks, we had been hearing that there were problems with contract negotiations and that certain actors weren't playing ball. Things were looking bad and many fans started to doubt that the movie would ever get made.

It’s been a long road for the Entourage movie. After HBO’s hit show went off the air back in 2011, things got rough for the gang. Plans for a feature film had been in place for a while but for a long time it seemed like those plans would never come to fruition. In recent weeks, we had been hearing that there were problems with contract negotiations and that certain actors weren’t playing ball. It wasn’t looking too good and many fans started to doubt that the movie would ever get made.

Luckily, the cast has listened to their fanbase and now we’re hearing that everyone has been able to reach a deal. All the principle actors have been signed and the movie will head into production this January.

The hold up had been due to the fact that Jeremy Piven was being offered a backend deal in his contract, and the rest of the cast was not. Now, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Jerry Ferrara and Kevin Dillon have all managed to snag backend deals as well, which was enough to get them to sign on.

Honestly, I’m surprised that the studio agreed to this. A backend deal for Piven, and maybe even Grenier makes sense, but not for the others. I thought that Warner Bros. would hold out and that the rest of the guys would eventually cave. Good for them though for standing their ground.

While I can’t say that they all deserve backend deals, I’m more than thrilled to see that they’ve been able to come to an agreement and I can’t wait to hear more about the film as it heads into production.
