Entertainment Weekly knows a thing or two about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them; after all, David Yates’ upcoming fantasy offshoot is the current cover star of EW’s latest issue, bringing with it a hoard of new and exciting tidbits for Warner’s budding franchise-starter.
Mere hours after the outlet introduced us to Credence Barebone – the “shy, vulnerable” character played by Ezra Miller – EW has conjured up a series of new images for the upcoming tentpole that showcase Fantastic Beasts and those wizards and witches prowling the streets of New York City to find them.
Bound for the US Department of Magic with a briefcase stuffed full of magical critters, it’s Eddie Redmayne that spearheads Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them as Newt Scamander, a brilliant pioneer in J.K. Rowling’s magical world of witchcraft and wizardry.
It doesn’t take long before that briefcase spills open, however, unleashing a hoard of strange and wonderful creatures on the unsuspecting masses of the Big Apple – a city that harbors a deep hatred for the wizarding world.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them debuts November 18, 2016. Eddie Redmayne, Gemma Chan, Carmen Ejogo, Jon Voight, Katherine Waterston, Ron Perlman and, as we learned recently, Zoe Kravitz are among the core cast. Kravitz is said to be one of the characters David Yates and Co. are reserving for the sequel, which has now staked out a November 2018 release date.
