Opening in theatres this week is the explosive new thriller, Escobar: Paradise Lost, which stars Benicio Del Toro as the titular drug lord and Josh Hutcherson as a young man who becomes romantically involved with his niece. Suffice to say, things take a dark turn from there.
Full of dread and suspense, not to mention a thrilling final act, Escobar: Paradise Lost first premiered back at the Toronto International Film Festival to mostly solid reviews, with our own Jordan Adler concluding the following about it:
Escobar: Paradise Lost benefits from a suspenseful final act and a menacing Benicio del Toro.
Last week at the film’s Los Angeles press day, we sat down with both Hutcherson and Del Toro to discuss the captivating new movie and how they prepared for their roles in it. During the course of our interview, they spoke about their pre-conceived notions of Pablo Escobar, the research they did before shooting began and much more.
Check out what they had to say in the video above and be sure to catch Escobar: Paradise Lost as it’s now playing in theatres.
