Fans Think The Avengers: Endgame Re-Release Will Introduce Fox’s Characters

Having released nearly two months ago, it's safe to say that the buzz and excitement around Avengers: Endgame has slowed to a crawl. Granted, this doesn't come as much of a surprise - the film's box office performance has lost a lot of momentum, and with an expected Blu-Ray and digital release just around the corner, it looks like fans have turned their attention to other summer blockbusters. Namely, Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Still, it seems Disney and Marvel haven’t entirely closed the book on their mega-hit just yet. As we previously reported, Endgame is returning to theaters with all-new footage, including what some are speculating to be a post-credits scene. Unsurprisingly, there’s been a lot of chatter about what the new version will look like, and a recent fan theory suggests that the House of Mouse might take this opportunity to introduce some Fox characters into the mix.

As ComicBook.com reports, the new idea comes to us from Reddit user FiveFingeredKing, who posits that the post-credits scene will begin with the same clanging sounds heard during Endgame‘s original ending, which are supposed to harken back to the moment where Tony Stark is building his very first Iron Man Mark 1 armor. For this re-release though, the theory says the scene will be retooled to show an unidentified pair of hands hammering out a mask – the mysterious man would turn out to be none other than Victor Von Doom, officially introducing the Fantastic Four’s arch-nemesis to the MCU.

It’s an interesting theory, though we’re a little skeptical about it. After all, this proposed ending would (ostensibly) require new footage to be filmed and mastered, which seems like a lot of work for a movie that has hundreds of hours of footage left on the cutting room floor. Whatever the new inclusions end up taking the form of though, we’re certainly excited to see what Marvel will include in the new theatrical cut for Avengers: Endgame. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait long to find out, as the re-release is expected to hit the big screen next weekend.
