It seems that actor Toby Kebbell has found his next gig. After impressing in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and being one of the few bright spots in the mess that was Fantastic Four, Kebbell will next star in Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ Kong: Skull Island, the upcoming monster origin story for Universal and Legendary which is due to hit theatres on March 10th, 2017.
Already set to star an impressive lineup of actors that includes Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, John C. Reilly and Tom Wilkinson, the film will tell the story of “a team of explorers venture into the mysterious, creature-laden isle that is also the home of the king of the apes.” No word yet on who Kebbell may be playing, but it will likely be a supporting role, perhaps as one of the explorers who meets an untimely death?
Jurassic World scribe Derek Connolly was recently brought in to polish up the script, so our hopes are certainly high for a thrilling adventure featuring one of the most iconic movie monsters of all-time. And with the talent that’s being assembled here, there’s no reason to think that Legendary and Universal won’t deliver. After all, they’re hoping to kick off a franchise here, so let’s hope that all the pieces fall into place accordingly.
