This final trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp has it all – larger-than-life action, MCU hijinks, and a breathless Luis regaling everyone with his preposterous stories.
That’s right, Michael Peńa’s fan-favorite motor-mouth is back for another round of pint-sized action, only this time, his buddy Scott is able to grow and expand into the size of a jumbo jet. It’s a trick that Paul Rudd’s would-be Avenger pulled out during the throes of Captain America: Civil War, though it appears that after two years of house arrest, Scott has all but mastered the art of transforming into Giant-Man.
By his side for this new adventure is Evangeline Lilly’s Hope Van Dyne who, together with her father Hank (Michael Douglas), launches a daring search party for the wayward Wasp. It’s one that points them in the direction of Marvel’s dark and dangerous Quantum Realm. But as today’s final trailer attests, they’ll also have Ghost to contend with, an elusive villain capable of walking through walls. And no, you read that right.
For Scott and Hope, that means setting aside their differences to become a team, one capable of altering their size quite dramatically in the blink of an eye. Such mind-bending abilities also opens up room for light-hearted fun, and the comedic elements of Ant-Man and the Wasp certainly make for a welcome tonic in this post-Infinity War landscape.
Ant-Man and the Wasp opens big on July 6th. How big, you ask? Early estimates place the sequel on course for a $75 million debut in the States, though that projection may change (for better or worse) once the review embargo has lifted. Stay tuned for more.
