More than any other Marvel release before it, there’s a ton resting on Avengers: Endgame. After Avengers: Infinity War turned out to be a massive cultural milestone last April, both Marvel Studios and the fanbase are hoping that the sequel will match or even surpass the impact that IW had just a year ago.
Of course, whether it’ll live up to all the hype or not remains to be seen, but we should find out soon enough, as reviews are set to go live later today. Specifically, they’ll be up on all the usual outlets at 3pm PST/6pm EST. That’s not too far off now, but before then, we can at least feast on some early social media reactions.
Yes, Avengers: Endgame held its world premiere in Los Angeles last night and already Twitter is flooded with Tweets, all showing tons of enthusiasm and love for the latest MCU film. And below, you’ll find just a sampling of what folks are saying:
INCREDIBLE!! #AVENGERS #ENDGAME brings the entire MCU to a rousing, exciting, deeply moving & wholly satisfying conclusion! It’s a *BEAUTIFUL* film! Fun, smart, clever, BRILLIANT! Perfect blend of action, heart & humor! This is as good as it gets! Greatest superhero movie EVER! pic.twitter.com/dMeLtvO7Gy

I withdraw my statement from last year.#Endgame will be THE film that will be talked about for years to come.
How 10 years of movies with different but intertwined stories came to one perfect conclusion.
This is how you do a cinematic universe & succeed!!#AvengersEndgame https://t.co/m3b5U1mQo5

#AvengersEndgame is an astonishing, amazing film. I’ve never seen anything like it. This movie is everything I wanted to be and SO much more. Amazing.

Just saw #AvengersEndgame and don’t want to spoil anything but trust that this movie delivers everything you’re hoping for – from a surprisingly sweet Ant-Man/Nebula team-up to a positively visceral Bucky/Cap fisting scene. They really nailed it – this saga ends on a high note 😍

THEY DID IT. Hard to believe but yeah – Marvel managed to make #AvengersEndgame both a perfect ending and a thrilling new beginning. Gonna be tough waiting til next summer to see how things shake out in Part 3. Marvel fans are in for a REAL treat

Bring the tissues – #AvengersEndgame is a tearjerker. From the opening moments that reckon with the fallout of The Snap to a heartbreaking twenty minute cello solo that I gotta say Chris Evans absolutely nails, this movie is more emotional than any Marvel, or superhero film, ever

Is #AvengersEndgame a crowdpleaser? Yes. Is it perfect? No. But the lows (some underwritten death scenes that fly by too quick) are far outweighed by the highs (a mournful, lilting viola piece from Rhodey that brought thehouse down). This movie RULES, plain and simple.

#AvengersEndgame is a masterful epic – a true culmination of 22 films that not only concludes the story, but expands upon it. You’ll learn more about the other movies while this one unfolds. If Infinity War is the brawn, Endgame is the brains. And wow, what an ending! pic.twitter.com/94ttBUQKJ0

Avoid spoilers at all costs. Experience #AvengersEndgame as clean as you can. It’s so one of a kind, don’t ruin it for yourself or others.

I just can’t remember a cinematic experience like the one I just had with #AvengersEndgame. Simply blown away. I feel like that movie was made for every Marvel fan, everywhere.

While watching #AvengersEndgame, I laughed so loud, I clapped with so much force, and I cried so hard. The movie exceeds every expectation and is the perfect culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Imagine the best possible version of #AvengersEndgame and somehow the film still surpasses all expectations. I cried 5-6 times. It’s the most emotional, most epic, MCU film. A tribute to ten years of this universe and holy shit the great fan service in this movie. Soooo good.

The scope of Avengers: Endgame is impossible to put into words. What Fiege & MCU achieved over last 10-years has lead to this gloriously masterful moment in cinema & it’s truly mind-blowing how beautifully paced this storytelling is. Perfectly balanced. As all things should be.

Do not go in expecting Infinity War part two. The two films are so different, yet compliment each other in all the best ways. In terms of which MCU movie to watch beforehand… honestly, all of them. What an experience – what an accomplishment#AvengersEndgame

#AvengersEndgame thoughts. Still processing: I laughed, I cried (multiple times), I screamed, but overall an EPIC ending to the Infinity Saga. #EndgamePremiereLA #Avengers #Endgame #whateverittakes

Of course, these Tweets represent just a small audience and the general public could end up feeling differently about the movie when it hits theaters later this week. That being said, we’re pretty sure that these reactions will be in line with what folks feel after finally seeing Avengers: Endgame. After all, the buzz has been nothing but positive and given how much is riding on it, there’s absolutely no way Marvel has dropped the ball here. Not after they’ve come so far and churned out one megahit after another.
Not to mention that the sequel also saw some ridiculously strong pre-sales, both at home and abroad. No doubt we can expect Avengers: Endgame to completely destroy the box office this weekend then, and if the critical reviews turn out to be similar to the reactions up above, then the sky will truly be the limit for how high this era-defining movie can climb.
