First Look At Amber Heard As Mera In Justice League

With Justice League recently having concluded the bulk of its principal photography, it's a wonder that we haven't seen more images or footage pertaining to the various characters appearing in the film. Sure we've seen the team of superheroes themselves - Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg - but what of those in supporting roles?

With Justice League recently having concluded the bulk of its principal photography, it’s a wonder that we haven’t seen more images or footage pertaining to the various characters appearing in the film. Sure, we’ve seen the team of superheroes themselves – Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg – but not much of those in supporting roles.

Luckily, that somewhat changes today because we now have our first look at Amber Heard as Mera, who happens to be the girlfriend or wife of Aquaman, depending on which continuity we’re speaking of. The look is in keeping with her comic book appearance and is quite regal, majestic, and warrior-like all at the same time. Kudos go to costume designer Michael Wilkinson and director Zack Snyder, who took this breathtaking photo himself.

Speaking of Wilkinson, be sure to also check out the other images included in the gallery below that lend insight into his creative process. Not only do we see a fully realized piece of concept art, but also a preliminary sketch of Mera.

For initial details regarding the film’s plot, consult the official synopsis below:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League arrives in theaters on November 17, 2017.
