Look out, Five Nights at Freddy’s fans! Jason Blum has announced that there will be more updates for the upcoming film adaptation of the popular video game franchise. Based on the short announcement that was released, it might have something to do with the animatronics.
Blum tweets that something “big” is going to happen tomorrow regarding the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie. Alongside the tweet are hashtags of the four main animatronics and the notorious cupcake. When the first trailer came out back in May, it gave a taste of the horrors hidden in this abandoned pizzeria, so it will be interesting to see if this next tease is about the robots who were once the face of this family-friendly pizza restaurant.
Speculation has arisen amongst fans, claiming that the full trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s will be released tomorrow. This was immediately confirmed by Blum when he replied to the official Twitter Movies account, asking “How excited should we be for the trailer tomorrow?” Blum replied with an “11,” hinting that something big would be shown in the next 24 hours.
It’s quite interesting that Blum announced this today, considering that according to the in-game lore, June 26 marks the “missing children’s incident” mentioned in a newspaper report found in the first game. This in-universe event saw five children get murdered by William Afton and stuffed into the animatronic suits. The fact that the animatronics were also included in the tweet could also play a role of the timing of this announcement.
Five Nights at Freddy’s will star Hunger Games actor Josh Hutcherson and Scooby-Doo’s Matthew Lillard. The film is scheduled to hit theaters and Peacock on Oct. 27, 2023.
